Karen & Adam
When a wedding proposal happens on the top of Mt. Fuji in Japan, then the wedding itself has to be just as spectacular. Karen and Adam’s nuptials did just that.
A warm and windy day in early October formed the backdrop for the ceremony at the Shrine Chapel of Our Lady of Orchard Lake. The church is one of the most beautiful in Detroit, on the grounds of Orchard Lake St. Mary’s school, just across the street from the lake itself. The soaring curved beams that support the coved ceiling create a dramatic setting, matching the solemnity and emotion of the day. The lines lift you heavenwards, and you’re instantly aware that you’re in a holy place. An amazing place, certainly, to pledge your love and fidelity!
After the ceremony, everyone gathered at Lyon Oaks Golf Course in Wixom, a Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired space in northwestern Oakland County, for a beautiful reception. Decorated with hand-made items from both families, in colors matching the palettes of both the room itself and the autumn leaves outside, the room glowed with joy and happiness.
