This is my story.
I’m John, and I am a photographer residing in Michigan and working throughout the Midwest.
I grew up in Northeast Ohio, in a steel town of 100,000 people. I’ve always enjoyed music and art, and my serious interest in photography began overseas in Seoul, South Korea.
Seoul is a city of 25,000,000 people – the energy of the city and its people were fascinating to me, and I wanted to capture the unfamiliar beauty of the life and the rhythms of Korea to share with friends and family at home. With so many opportunities and subjects to explore, it was easy to learn how to take pictures, while having fun at the same time.
When I returned to the United States, my interest continued and I began to get requests: “Your pictures are so beautiful! Can you just take a few shots of me/us/my new baby..?” Although I was a little surprised by the recognition, the projects went well, and I found that I actually enjoyed it. So much so, in fact, that I was happy to accept when asked to shoot a wedding … which led to another … and here we are.
